The
new TOTSUCAT process offers a ready-to-use activated catalyst. As catalyst
already contains the metal
sulfided phase, the start-up
procedure now only requires the heating up of the unit to start-of-run
conditions.
TOTSUCAT main features
 |
Catalyst is fully (off-site) sulfided
: |
| |
In
the presence of hydrogen, with a sulfur source at appropriate temperature
Stoechiometry is typically
between 85 and 100% of corresponding sulfides, depending on catalyst
type |
 |
To allow more convenient catalyst handling and reactor loading, sulfided catalyst can be : |
| |
either passivated (hydrocarbon introduced in porosity) - more dedicated to liquid phase applications, as e. g. gas oils treatments,
or stabilized (gas phase oxidative passivation) - more dedicated to Light Ends or gas phase applications.
In some specific cases, Eurecat can also deliver sulfided unpassivated products.
|
 |
Catalyst once passivated : |
| |
Is
non-pyrophoric
Is self-heating with behaviour
similar to SULFICAT
Is classified as UN 3190
Can be transported in metallic
drums or containers |
 |
Catalyst once stabilized : |
| |
Is
non-pyrophoric
Is self-heating
Is classified as UN 3190
Can be transported in metallic
drums or containers |
The process, ideally suited to naphtha pretreaters
or other low sulfur feed treatments, can however be used in all hydrotreating
units.

and unpassivated
material.
TOTSUCAT applications
 |
HYDROPROCESSING : |
| |
Hydrocrackers, Lube hydrotreaters
Naphtha hydrotreaters
Distillates and resid units |
 |
SPECIAL UNITS : |
| |
Petrochemical units
Tail gas units
Hydrogen plants + make
up batches for many applications |
The choice between SULFICAT and TOTSUCAT will
be made taking into account the individual unit operating parameters.
