Basel convention on the control of transboundary movements of hazardous wastes and their disposal, dated 22.03.89

"The Convention aims through its Secretariat to control the transboundary movement of hazardous wastes, monitor and prevent illegal traffic, provide assistance for the environmentally sound management of hazardous wastes, promote co-operation between Parties in this field, and develop Technical Guidelines for the management of hazardous wastes."

(Intended to regulate hazardous waste shipments and their disposal, including recycling and recovery).

	No distinction between disposal & recycling operations
	Shipment is authorised between signatories of the Basel Convention only, both for disposal & recovery operations
